History
One of the 51 Shakti Peeths where the eyes of Sati fell. The temple stands atop a hill overlooking the Gobind Sagar Lake and is believed to have been established by a gujjar boy named Naina, who was guided by the goddess in a dream.
Architecture
Domed white sanctum with three main deities: Naina Devi (centre), Kali Mata and Ganesha. A ropeway ferries pilgrims from the base parking to the temple.
Mythology & Legend
When Sati self-immolated at Daksha's yagna, her eyes fell here. The word 'Nain' means eyes in Hindi. Guru Gobind Singh Ji is also said to have performed penance here before founding the Khalsa.
