The Mandi → Nako taxi run is 251 km and takes about 9 hours in normal conditions, going via Shimla, Narkanda, Rampur. Nako sits at 3,662 m, so the last stretch climbs — plan a chai stop and let the driver pace the ascent. Fares are locked before you confirm on WhatsApp; no surge, no midnight spike.
