About Jibhi for 2026 — Tirthan Valley Charm

Jibhi is what Kasol used to be a decade ago — a slow, wooden village on the Tirthan tributary, cedar forests all around, and just enough cafés to make you want to stay one more day. There are no big hotels here (mercifully), only cottages and boutique stays run by families who moved home to rebuild the tourism their grandparents once had. Our list is small on purpose.

Why choose this destination

  • Gateway to the Great Himalayan National Park — a UNESCO World Heritage site.
  • Riverside cottages built in traditional kath-kuni wood-stone architecture.
  • Reliable summer refuge (16–24°C in June) with almost no crowds.
  • Base for Jalori Pass (12 km, 3,120 m), Serolsar Lake, and Chehni Kothi tower.
  • Uncommonly good café scene: Artist's Café, Nature Point, Cafe Kanika.

Local travel tips

  • Tip 1. Jalori Pass shuts with heavy snow (Jan–Feb usually) — check daily in winter.
  • Tip 2. Data patchy — download offline maps before arrival.
  • Tip 3. Support local kitchens; the trout is caught same day.
